How to Build an AI Product Catalog: Photos and Video for Every Product
Most fashion brands do not have a photography problem so much as a catalog problem. A single hero shoot is manageable. What breaks is the hundredth SKU, the third colourway, the festive re-shoot of a range you already photographed in spring. An AI product catalog fixes the part that does not scale: it keeps every product in one library and generates the photos and video for each one on demand. This guide walks through how that works in FashClick, what it costs, and how to get good results from it.
What an AI product catalog actually is
An AI product catalog has two halves, and it is worth keeping them separate in your head:
- The library. Every product, with its source photos and the details you sort by — serial code, category, gender, season. This is the system of record for what you sell.
- The media. The on-model photos and short videos generated from each product’s source photos. This is what you publish.
In FashClick those halves are two views in the dashboard. Products is the library: adding a product saves it as a draft and generates nothing, so building the library costs no credits. Photoshoot is where the media is generated. A product in Products opens its photoshoot once it has one, so the two stay linked. Together they make up the FashClick AI Product Catalog.
In one line: organise once in Products, then generate a photoshoot whenever a product needs new media — for a launch, a season or a campaign.
Step 1: Add your products
Each product starts with its photos and four details:
- Product photos. Upload one or more photos of the same product. They are used together when media is generated, so a front view plus a back view and a fabric close-up gives the AI more of the real garment to work from than a single shot.
- Gender. Women, Men, Girls, Boys or Unisex — this decides who wears it in the photoshoot.
- Serial code. Your own SKU or style code. It is checked as you type, and it is how the product’s photoshoots are grouped.
- Season or festival, and category. Pick from lists that cover everyday fashion — Saree, Lehenga, Kurta, Dress, Jeans, Blazer, Footwear, Handbag and more — and seasons and occasions from Summer and Winter to Diwali, Eid, Navratri and Christmas. You can also type your own.
Once products are in, you can search by serial code, filter by season or category, and edit or remove products as your range changes. None of that touches your credits.
Step 2: Set up the photoshoot
When a product needs media, generate its photoshoot. Three choices shape the result:
- Campaign. Give the photoshoot a campaign name — “Diwali 2026”, “Summer drop”. A product can have several photoshoots, one per campaign, and earlier ones are kept rather than replaced.
- Where your shoppers are. Choose a country and a state or region. Together with the product’s gender, that picks the AI model who wears the product, and you can preview the model before you spend anything.
- Media type. Photos, a video, or both.
Photos, video, or both
The media type is also what sets the credit cost:
- Photos — 3 credits. Three AI images of the product on a model, ready for product pages and marketplaces.
- Video — 5 credits. One short clip of about eight seconds, suited to reels, stories, ads and product-page video slots.
- Photos & Video — 8 credits. Both, from the same photoshoot.
Credits are taken when you click Generate. If you are short, the photoshoot offers to take you to buy more and keeps your photoshoot settings while you do.
Step 3: Review, regenerate, download
Generative output is not always right first time, and the catalog is built around that:
- Regenerate one image, not the whole set. If two of three photos are good, keep them and regenerate the third. Each image’s first regeneration is free; after that it costs 1 credit.
- Regenerate the video on its own for 5 credits, leaving the photos untouched.
- Download a single image, or a product’s whole set of media in one go.
Which plans include it
Products and Photoshoot are available on the Free, Growth, Pro and Pay as you go plans. They are not part of Starter; a Starter account sees an upgrade prompt in their place. New accounts get 5 free credits once, which covers a first set of three photos so you can judge the quality on your own product before paying for anything.
How to get good results
- Lead with clean source photos. Even light, the product filling the frame, no clutter.
- Add the angles you have. A back view and a close-up of the print, embroidery or fabric help the AI keep the details that make the product yours.
- Get the category and gender right. They tell the photoshoot what the product is and who wears it.
- Name campaigns consistently. “Diwali 2026” across a range makes it easy to find every product shot for that campaign later.
- Test your hardest product first. A heavily printed saree or a sheer dupatta will tell you more about quality than a plain tee.
Start with photos for the whole range, then add video to your best sellers. At 3 credits a product, photos let you cover the catalog; video is where 5 credits work hardest.
Where it fits next to a real shoot
An AI product catalog is not a replacement for every photoshoot. Campaign hero imagery, editorial work and fit sign-off still benefit from a camera. What it replaces is the long tail: the SKUs that only ever got a flat-lay, the colourways nobody shot, the festive refresh that never made the budget. The bottom line
The work in a catalog is not one great photo; it is good media for every product, kept up to date season after season. Keep products in one library, generate a photoshoot when a product needs one, and spend real shoot budgets where they matter most. Frequently asked questions
What is an AI product catalog?
An AI product catalog keeps your products, their source photos and their details in one place and generates the catalog media for each product with AI — on-model photos and short videos — instead of a studio shoot. In FashClick, Products is the library and Photoshoot is where the media is generated.
How much does an AI catalog photoshoot cost on FashClick?
A photo set of three AI images costs 3 credits, a video of about eight seconds costs 5 credits, and both together cost 8 credits. Adding and editing products costs nothing. Each image’s first regeneration is free, then 1 credit per image.
Which FashClick plans include the product catalog?
Products and Photoshoot are available on the Free, Growth, Pro and Pay as you go plans. They are not included in Starter.
What photos should I upload for each product?
Upload clear, well-lit photos of the same product — a front view at minimum, plus a back view or a fabric and detail close-up if you have them. All the photos you add are used together, so the more of the real product the AI can see, the more faithful the result.
Can I generate a new photoshoot for the same product each season?
Yes. Each photoshoot has a campaign name, and a product can have several — say a Diwali campaign and a winter campaign. Earlier photoshoots are kept rather than overwritten, so you build up media for the product over time.
